UK Power Networks
Lofty Heights has recently become a Power Partner by teaming up UK Power Networks, the country’s biggest electricity distributor. The company invests more than £600 million in its electricity networks every year, offers extra help to vulnerable customers at times of need, and is undertaking trials to ensure that electricity networks support the transition to a low carbon future, whilst making sure the lights stay on for more than eight million homes and businesses across London, the Southeast and the East of England.
As a power Partner, Lofty Heights are supporting vulnerable customers to sign up for the UK Power Network Priority Service; this service ensures that customers receive extra support if they experience a power cut.
Once signed up to the register customers can receive the following:
- A priority number they can call 24 hours a day
- A dedicated team who will contact them to keep them updated during a power cut
- Tailored support during prolonged power cuts such as home visits, hot meals, advice and keeping relatives and friends updated
- An overnight hotel stay with transport if the delay to restoring power is substantial
Who can receive this extra support?
People with poor mobility, a hearing/visual impairment, someone of pensionable age, suffering from chronic illness, has dementia, relies on medical equipment that needs electricity, parents with children under 5, someone who is recovering from medical treatment or doesn’t speak English as a first language.
The criterion for this service is very flexible and by contacting Lofty Heights on 01473 345301 one of our friendly team will help you complete the form over the phone or at your property.
