On the 2nd September CEO Garry Mills and Workforce Manager David Olding, rolled up their sleeves and teamed up with the staff from Lapwing Education to regenerate an old, disused pond at Genesis Orwell Mencap with a number of disadvantaged young people.
Lapwing Education was founded in 2010 as an alternative education provider focused on delivering bespoke 1:1, 2:1 and small group provision to young people with complex additional needs. Lapwing is a registered charity and aspires to work with young people (aged 4 to 25) who experience barriers to accessing education, employment and society generally.
Rob Hart, CEO of Genesis Orwell Mencap commented “it was our pleasure to have you at Genesis Orwell Mencap. Thank you for your efforts and the start of revitalising the pond area of our garden. Can’t wait for everyone to come back and keep progressing the pond project forward.”
